Hi, I’m Helena, your friendly Fitness Advisor. I’ve worked in the fitness industry for over 10 years, throughout my career I have helped clients achieve some remarkable results. My passion for exercise started as a child, competing as a swimmer at national level. Following this, I qualified as a sports coach at 16 and continued to do this whilst attending college and university studying sport and exercise. At 24 I fell in love with weightlifting and qualified to become a PT and exercise to music instructor.
Recently, I became a mother and now recognise the barriers of finding time to exercise and how to fit it around a busy schedule, but I feel exercise is important for maintaining good mental health. Exercising helps me to stay focused, relieves stress, improves self-esteem and most importantly… Improves my quality of sleep.
My aim is to get people to fall in love with exercising and to help them understand that it doesn’t have to be a chore. A little bit of exercise is better than none. I have adapted my own fitness routine to suit my new lifestyle, and I can offer help to others to do the same.
At JCB Active, you will find me teaching Strength & Sculpt, Fast Abs and Indoor Group Cycling. You may also find me on the gym floor, co-leading our ‘Exercise Referral’ Scheme or assisting members with one of our ‘in house’ programmes.
